As we continue our walk in Ordinary Time, it might be helpful to recall the importance of Ordinary Time. So it is not Advent, Christmas, Lent or Easter, it is Ordinary Time. We wear green vestments and use green as the liturgical color, just kind of ordinary. Ordinary Time dominates our liturgical year since it accounts for 34 weeks of the year. It is actually a helpful reminder that it may not be a preparatory season or High Holy Day season but like our own lives we continue to plug along. So Ordinary Time enables us to just recognize God’s presence in our lives, in the simple day to day relationship we have with Him, our family, friends and others. If you started a prayerful practice during Advent, perhaps you continue it now, just as a normal discipline. Perhaps, the time we took to reflect at Advent and Christmas now bears fruit in this ordinary time.
For now, we continue our walk with the Lord.
