We have received a few questions regarding the distribution of the Precious Blood at Mass.  In many parishes in our Diocese and across the country have stopped offering the Precious Blood.  Many are concerned about the new Coronavirus.  The Flu is typically more of a concern as it is highly contagious and can affect many in a very quick period of time. While purification and the alcohol content of the Precious Blood tend kill any germs that may be transmitted, people are still a bit fearful.  Out of an abundance of caution we will temporarily suspend the distribution of the Precious Blood.  We hope to reintroduce it after Easter.  For those who have a gluten intolerance and for some cannot receive the low gluten host, please talk to the priest before Mass so we might make accommodations for you.  Catholic Church teaching is that when you receive the Body of Christ, you receive the Body and Blood of Christ.  So there is no necessity to receive both, but it is offered normally as a fuller sign of our unity with Christ.

For now, we continue our walk with the Lord.
