Dear Friends in Christ,

Since March 16th, the Parish has not had public liturgies.  So, for the last part of Lent, all of Holy Week, Easter and the Easter Season, we have not been able to celebrate as we are accustomed to.  This has been a very painful period for many.  Some have been infected by COVID-19, and some have passed away.  Some have lost their jobs and suffered strain of being isolated from family and friends.  Also, during this time, we have not been able to distribute Communion to the faithful.  While we have tried to celebrate Masses online and pray virtually together, these have been incredibly challenging times.  On June 10th, Long Island will enter phase 2, and we will be able to celebrate public liturgies with 25% capacity of the space.  In the Church that would be about 60-70 people.  In the Parish Center there will be some more capacity.  We are currently working to allow us to celebrate Mass together this Sunday.

To do this we will need your cooperation and the cooperation of all the faithful.  All who wish to go to Mass MUST WEAR MASK/FACE COVERING, the only exception is for those under 2 years of age.  You will not be admitted to any of the buildings, Church or Parish Center without mask/face covering.  Families who live together can sit close together, however 6 feet of separation between families or couples/individuals that are not in the same household must be maintained.  Sunday Mass Schedule will be 5pm on Saturday, 8am, 10am, and 12noon on Sunday in English in the Parish Center.  If the Parish Center reaches capacity, we will have a second Mass in the Church as overflow.  At this time, we still are not permitted to distribute Communion to the Faithful.  The obligation to go to Sunday Mass is still lifted.  If you are sick or in a vulnerable category, we ask you to remain home for your health and safety and the health and safety of everyone.

We have changed the Mass schedule to make accommodation to disinfect the Parish Center and Church between each Mass.  If you can help after a Mass to help clean and disinfect, we will have supplies and this will help us keep everyone safe and also make the work less for all those who are trying to keep everyone safe.

8am Daily Masses (Monday-Friday) will begin on June 10th in the Church.  Confession is available on Saturday 4-4:45pm and by appointment.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Michael J. Bartholomew
Pastor
