praying hands with rosarySacrament of Reconciliation
The Monday before Christmas, we will have additional opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  A priest will be available in the confessional after the 8am Mass, from 4-5pm and followed by our annual Advent penance service in the midst of Exposition at 7pm.  These additional opportunities help us in our relationship with God, neighbor and self as we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ birth at Christmas.  Even if it has been a long time since you have celebrated the Sacrament, this is a great opportunity to do so before Christmas.

The Tradition of La Posada
In many Latin American countries, like Guatemala, there is a tradition of La Posada.  La Posada is Spanish for the Inn.  For about 9 nights, the community would gather at different houses each night and prayer together, with an image of Mary and St. Joseph, as they look for a place to stay.  They begin at the door of a home and knock, and a dialogue of seeking lodging for the Holy Family is sung.  Afterwards the images are brought in, and the community prays the Rosary and a reflection is given on a Gospel passage.  It is a way to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ at Christmas.  This year due to pandemic we will hold this tradition at the Church at 8pm starting on Wednesday December 16th.  It will end before the 8pm Mass in Spanish in the Parish Center on Christmas Eve  You are invited to join our Hispanic Community for this tradition, even if it is just one night to experience this devotion.

Out of an abundance of caution regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) we have cancelled the Posadas.

For now, we continue our walk with the Lord.
