Over the past month or so, we have received questions and concerns over the COVID-19 vaccine. We had put out a few things on our website from the USCCB and from the Diocese regarding the vaccine. This information is found on our website at https://iccwhb.org/2020/12/moral-questions-regarding-the-new-covid-19-vaccines/. At this moment in time there are few alternatives to combating the pandemic. Vaccination is seen as the best and most effective way to prevent the spread. As it becomes available, people should seek to be vaccinated. Since we do not get to choose which of the vaccines we receive, it is still permissible to receive whichever vaccine. While we may object to how a vaccine is made or even how it was developed, we can still receive that vaccine as the moral imperative is to safeguard everyone from this dangerous disease.
For now, we continue our walk with the Lord.
