Spotlight on: Homebound Ministry

Ministry to the Homebound is a very important ministry in the Church.  Since earliest times of the Church, people would bring the Eucharist to those who were unable to be present at the communal celebration.  Today, homebound ministers bring Communion to those who are unable to join us.  They serve at Westhampton Care Facility, Villas at Westhampton, the East End Hospice Kanas Center and visit people in their homes.  There is specific and specialized training for this.  There will be Eucharistic Minister Training and Homebound training on October 29th at St. Rosalie’s.  First part is for new Eucharistic Ministers and second part would be for the ministry to Homebound.  If you are a Eucharistic Minister and would like to receive the Homebound training you can call the parish office to sign up.  If you were never trained as a Eucharistic Minister, you can sign up and take the full training then serve as both Eucharistic Minister at Mass and for the Homebound or simply for the Homebound. This is a ministry we are always in need of ministers to help reach our homebound parishioners.  Please call the office and we will add your name to the list.  A letter must be provided by Fr. Mike in order to attend the trainings.
