Dear Parish family,
This past weekend, I announced that Bishop Barres has appointed me as Coordinator of the Hispanic Apostolate on the East End, and Pastor of the Parish of Sacred Heart with the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Mattituck. Bishop Barres has appointed Fr. Ken Grooms as Pastor of Immaculate Conception. These appointments will take effect on June 28, 2023.
I recognize the shock this might be to you as it was for me. I am thankful for my nine years as your pastor, and both you and I and our whole parish has grown, and not always under the easiest of circumstances. I will be continuing as Dean of the East End and most likely my new mission will help with Hispanic Community here at Immaculate Conception so I will not be far away.
I am confident that Fr. Ken will do great things here and continue to help our parish to grow in the knowledge and love of God and one another. For now, I would ask for your prayers for Fr. Ken, our parish, my new mission and me.
