Pentecost Sunday / Memorial Day Weekend
Pentecost Sunday
“Come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. Amen.” This great prayer of the Church is something we constantly pray for especially on Pentecost Sunday, the Birthday of the Church! We continue to pray for the conversion of hearts to be open to the Love of God in their lives and the deepening of our own relationship with God. We are confirming some adults at our 11am and 5pm Spanish Masses. We can recall our own Confirmation and the call to continually be open to the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Memorial Day Weekend
As we reflect this Memorial Day weekend, we should pray for those who sacrificed for our freedom, and those who continue to do so. We might look at that sacrifice and the movement of our nation over the years as hopefully guided in part by the Holy Spirit. We also continue to pray for our leaders in government from the President on down that they might be open to the movement of the Holy Spirit and might guide our nation in the ways of peace and justice.
For now, we continue our walk with the Lord.
