VBS and Two BIG Announcements
Dear ICC Family,
Vacation Bible School (VBS) was a great success. It really means a lot to kids to learn about the Bible in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. (I grew up as a Southern Baptist. The Baptists invented VBS because the kids in public schools were not allowed to study the Bible in school.) Many thanks to our DRE, Kim DeVito, and the wonderful staff of volunteers who help make this wonderful annual week-long event possible!
BIG announcement! Shawn Pinson is our “new” Sacristan. Actually, Shawn has been our Sacristan for years… as a volunteer! Now, he’s going to be on the staff as Sacristan. Nobody has helped me more in my first month as a pastor here. Shawn will also continue in our Music Ministry as needed. We are truly blessed to have this multi-talented man on our staff!
Shawn’s bio:
An active member of ICC parish since 1990, Shawn has been active in many ministries at our parish and works locally as a procurement manager and in-house designer for a leading construction firm. He serves as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Cantor, and has directed our music liturgy.
Since Shawn is now our primary Sacristan and leads our Environmental Ministry, you will see him around quite often. In addition to assisting our priests, Shawn will continue to help all our liturgical ministers do their jobs while providing an atmosphere for our congregation to participate fully, actively, and prayerfully in the mass. Dedication to the people of the parish, his knowledge of Catholic liturgy and his ability to serve in almost any function has always been Shawn’s hallmark for time well spent!
BIG announcement! Linda Geoghan is our new Secretary. Linda has years of church experience. She’s super friendly… and super organized!
From Linda:
Hello Church! Fr. Ken has asked me to introduce myself to you all. My name is Linda Geoghan and I’m your new Parish Secretary. I’m coming to you with some experience of working in Church offices. I spent 12 years at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Islip Terrace and am coming to you now straight from 6 years with St. Jude in Mastic Beach. I live in Hauppauge and am a widow, mother, and grandmother. I’m looking forward to meeting you so why not come to the office and say hello? Let’s see what great things we can do together for the Parish!
