Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear ICC Family,

I have so much to be grateful for, especially after being installed as your pastor two weeks ago and after getting Teddy, my new puppy … and after being so warmly welcomed here three months ago … and after being ordained to the priesthood at the age of 55 … etc., etc!

So many blessings!

And we’re all blessed to have such an awesome, active parish with so many good people who truly care about each other and the community!

And we’re blessed to live in (arguably) the greatest country in history. Never before has so many people from so many places around the world immigrated to one place. America, and especially New York, is truly the melting pot of the world. How blessed we are to be a nation of immigrants.

And how blessed we are to serve those less fortunate than ourselves in our community. Every day people stop by the rectory and Our Lady’s Hall to drop off food and other goods. I was just visiting the food pantry and witnessed your generosity in action. Family after family with small children coming in to get everything they need to make this Thanksgiving extra special. It was truly a heart-warming experience.

May God bless our parish, and may God bless you all for your goodness and your generosity…something we all can be grateful for!
