Adopt-a-Family Message from Kristin Kalisak
Dear Friends,
On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, the Community Outreach Program and Adopt-a-Family were able to deliver over 75 Thanksgiving Baskets throughout the Greater Westhampton Area to families and individuals that needed the help. In December, we were able to deliver 80 Christmas Baskets with gifts to families, shut-ins, individuals down on their luck, and single parents with children who are struggling. Through coordination and cooperation of all the local churches, charitable organizations, and community members the Adopt-A-Family project was able to make sure those in need received gifts and food to brighten their holidays and give a special Christmas to many children.
First and foremost, we would like to thank the individuals who contributed or adopted a family this year. We greatly appreciate all the love, time, and effort that you put into every donation. We are truly blessed by your help and generosity, without which none of this would be possible. The community members consistently demonstrate remarkable warmth and compassion, leaving us inspired and touched by their collective spirit.
We would also like to thank the following churches, organizations, and people for their support, generosity and participation: The Church of the Immaculate Conception, especially Linda, Victor, Carol, Donna, Anne, Mary, and Charlie, Westhampton Presbyterian Church, especially Tracy Speed, St. Mark’s Church, SOA of Southampton Town, WHB Ladies Auxiliary, Southampton Town PBA, Quogue Village PBA, Westhampton Kiwanis, Live Your Cor Foundation, Westhampton Women’s Club, Hospice, WHB Rotary Interact Club, WHBHS Student Government, WHBHS Key Club, WHBES Student Council, WHB School District, Quogue Elementary School, Remsenburg-Speonk Elementary School, Quogue Library, WHB Library, WHB Fire Department, Speonk Lumber, Julie’s Storybook Nursery School, Saint Mark’s Bright Beginnings, Compass Real Estate, Saunders & Associates, Father Joseph Slomski Knights of Columbus Council # 7423, IC Bible Study, Pepperidge Farm, Hank Hulse Farms, Stop & Shop, Rico’s and Justin’s Chop Shop for the delicious turkeys and hams.
With special thanks to all the amazing elves that helped put the food baskets together, organized gifts, and loaded Santa’s Sleigh. A special thank you to Paddy Smith and Rachel Gonce.
In loving memory of Gordon Werner, you are forever in our hearts. We love you and know you are always here with us in spirit.
In Appreciation,
Kristin Kalisak
